This Privacy Policy explains how UpyogiTools ("we", "us", "our", or the "Service") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and online tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
Our image and PDF tools (cropping, resizing, watermarking, merging, image-to-PDF conversion, format conversion, QR generation, and caption formatting) are designed to run directly inside your web browser. In normal use, the images, documents, and text you process are not uploaded to or stored on our servers — they are processed locally on your own device.
When you save your work, the file downloads directly to your own device through your browser. Your files are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
The Private File Vault uses the browser's Web Crypto API to encrypt and decrypt files locally with AES-256-GCM. The password, derived key and file contents are not transmitted to us. We cannot recover a forgotten password or decrypt a damaged encrypted file.
Why ordinary editing files are not encrypted while open: an image or PDF must be readable in browser memory for cropping, rendering or conversion to work. Encrypting those working bytes would make processing impossible. Instead, UpyogiTools avoids server transfer, keeps work temporary, revokes temporary object URLs, clears password and file controls when the page is left, and provides Private File Vault for creating an encrypted copy when required.

This data is used in aggregate to keep the Service secure, diagnose problems, and understand general usage. It is not used to personally identify you.
The Contact & Secure Feedback page uses an essential session cookie for CSRF protection, a timed arithmetic challenge and submission rate limiting. The challenge runs on our server and does not use Google reCAPTCHA or any other third-party tracking CAPTCHA. The Social Caption Formatter stores a draft in local browser storage only when you actively enable “Remember this draft”. That draft remains on your device and can be removed by clearing the checkbox, pressing Clear, or clearing browser data. The current build does not include analytics or advertising tracking scripts.
UpyogiGuide processes typed requests locally using a built-in intent list. Assistant messages are not sent to an AI provider, are not stored by UpyogiTools and disappear when the page is refreshed or closed.
If you install the UpyogiTools web app, a service worker stores the application shell, bundled libraries and previously loaded eligible public pages in your browser cache so supported tools can open offline. Selected photos, signatures, PDFs, passwords and generated ZIP contents are not added to that offline cache. Admin, feedback submission, sitemap and IndexNow routes are excluded. Removing the installed app or clearing site data removes the browser cache.
The Smart Question Paper Maker uses browser storage (IndexedDB and local recovery storage) only on your device when you autosave or save a draft. Saved papers may contain school details, questions, answers and an uploaded logo. They are not sent to UpyogiTools. You can delete drafts from Saved Papers, clear browser site data, or export a portable .qpaper project/backup before clearing data.
When you use Generate from File, the selected PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, Markdown or CSV file is read in temporary browser memory. Extracted source text is not sent to UpyogiTools or an external AI service and is not added to the saved draft; only the generated questions and answers enter the editable paper when you choose Generate.
If you move the floating social buttons or Smart Help control, UpyogiTools stores only their screen-position preferences in local browser storage. These preferences contain no paper, file, message or personal content and are not sent to our server.

Because tool files are processed in your browser and saved to your own device, we do not retain copies of them. Standard hosting logs may be retained by the hosting provider only as needed for security and operation.
Question-paper drafts remain in that browser until you delete them or clear site data. UpyogiTools cannot view, recover or synchronize those local drafts between devices.
Feedback form details are delivered to our support email account and may also be stored in the protected website database. We normally delete them within 12 months after the last support interaction, unless a shorter period is requested or longer retention is required for security, dispute resolution or another legal obligation. You may request deletion using the contact details below, subject to any lawful retention requirement.
The “Clear Private Session” control reloads the workspace after clearing file inputs, password fields, canvases and tracked temporary object URLs. Closing the tab also releases browser memory; browser and operating-system behaviour remains outside our control.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). These may include the right to:

The feedback and support form is intended only for adults aged 18 or above, or for a parent, lawful guardian or authorised teacher acting for a child. Children must not submit their name, email address, school details or other personal information. The browser-local education tools can be used under appropriate adult or school supervision without creating an account or sending tool files to us. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including serving the site over HTTPS. However, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a personal-data breach affecting information held by us is confirmed, we will investigate, limit further exposure, preserve necessary records and provide notices required by applicable law. Browser-local tool files are not available to us for breach notification because they are not collected by our server.
The Donate feature is currently marked Coming Soon. We do not currently request or collect card, bank, UPI or other payment information.
The Service may be accessed from around the world. By using it, you understand that your information may be processed in the country where our servers or service providers are located, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
